Cars in New York City traffic in the evening

Stuck in Traffic

New Year’s Eve in New York City is electrifying. The streets pulse with energy. People are heading out to parties, tourists are lining up for Times Square, and the normally vibrant city feels even more alive. The air feels charged, as if the entire world is holding its breath for the countdown to midnight. But inside our Uber, everything feels like it is frozen in place. Lucas and I have been stuck in traffic for what feels like an eternity, the car inching forward in the usual New York gridlock, making no significant progress.

I check my phone again. Google Maps shows a sea of red, a mess of  low-moving arrows.

We are supposed to be at Emily’s party in fifteen minutes. That is now laughable. Every minute that passes only adds more time to our already delayed arrival.

“Are we even moving?” I mutter, leaning forward a little to look out the window. The sea of brake lights stretches out in front of us like a never-ending river. I check my phone again. We are now going to be an hour late.

I glance at Lucas beside me, expecting the same tension I feel, but to my surprise, he’s sitting there with a grin on his face, relaxed, almost unfazed by the situation. He’s leaning back in the seat with his arms crossed, staring out the window with that easygoing smile he always wears when things don't go as planned.

“Looks like it,” he says. “But hey, it’s New York, right? If we’re stuck, we’re stuck. Let’s enjoy the ride.”

I blink at him, trying to reconcile his attitude with the mess outside. “Enjoy the ride?” I repeat. “We literally flew in for this party. Now we’re not even going to make it!”

“Yeah, but maybe this is part of the experience,” Lucas says with a shrug. “We’re here, we’re alive, we’re in New York. Who cares if we’re a little late? I’m sure Emily will understand.”

I stare at him, at his chiseled jawline, gray eyes, and tousled hair. If he wasn’t so damn hot, I would have scratched his eyes out years ago. I wanted to be as carefree as he was, but we had flown in from San Francisco for Emily—my best friend—and her party. I hadn’t seen her since her company transferred her to New York over a year ago. I miss her and want to go to this party. Instead, we are stuck in a car, in the middle of the most chaotic city on the most chaotic night of the year.

“I don’t know, Lucas,” I say, my voice tinged with frustration. “I just feel like we can’t catch a break tonight. First, everything’s running late, and now we’re stuck in traffic. It’s like the universe is throwing everything at us.”

“I’m sorry, babe. I know how much this party means to you,” Lucas says, squeezing my hand. “But there’s literally nothing we could have done to avoid this. We’re here together, it’ll be fun once we finally make it, and hey—this traffic’s not going anywhere. We might as well enjoy the time we’ve got.”

Before I can answer, I hear our Uber driver’s voice from the front of the car. “You guys headed to a party?” he asks, glancing at us through the rearview mirror.

I hadn’t really paid much attention to our driver up until now. I look up at him in the rearview mirror.

He is younger than I expected—probably in his early thirties—and he has that easy charm about him, the kind of guy who’d probably turn heads when you pass him on the street.

He’s wearing a black leather jacket that fits him just right, and his dark hair is perfectly messy, like he spent hours getting it just that way. His eyes, though, were the real standout—deep brown with a quiet intensity that made me look at him a little longer than I intended.

I look at the Uber app on my phone. Our driver’s name is Darren, which is oddly fitting.

“Yeah,” I say, trying not to sound too defeated.

Darren laughs. It’s a smooth, easy sound, and it stirs something in my stomach. “Yeah, I don’t think anyone’s going anywhere tonight. Happens every year. The whole city’s trying to move at the same time. But hey, don’t stress it.”

I glance over at Lucas, who is still smiling, looking more relaxed than I felt. He turns to Darren with an almost conspiratorial grin. “I like this guy,” Lucas says. “You get it.”

I roll my eyes. “So what do we do now?” I ask, turning to Lucas and then Darren. “Just sit here and wait?”

Darren’s eyes flick to the rearview mirror again, and our eyes lock. His smile widens. “Pretty much. You guys wanna listen to some music?”

“Yeah!” Lucas replies, a little too enthusiastically. “It’s New Year’s Eve! Let’s make the most of it. We’re stuck in traffic, so why not have a little fun?” A wicked grin spreads across his face, igniting a spark of excitement.

I haven’t seen Lucas this excited since… No. Lucas cannot be serious right now.

Darren fiddles with his phone for a few seconds and then a beat drops. Suddenly the car is filled with music—the kind of music you’d expect to hear at a party, but here we are, stuck in traffic, and the energy is electrifying.

I turn to look at Lucas. “What kind of fun?” I whisper, thankful the music is too loud for Darren to hear what I’m asking.

Lucas shrugs innocently, which is something he only does when his intentions are anything but innocent. “He’s got a point. I guess if we’re going to be stuck, we might as well make it entertaining.”

I look at Lucas through slitted eyes. “Entertaining?”

Lucas gives me a playful nudge and puts his hand on my thigh. “You never know what might happen. Could be the best part of the night,” he says with a wink.

Except I know exactly what will happen. My stomach flutters with excitement and suddenly I feel myself getting wet.

He looks at me with a mischievous grin I am all too familiar with, the one that says he is on board for whatever fun is about to unfold. “You in?”

I couldn’t help but laugh. I hadn’t planned on having a good time while sitting in traffic, but with Lucas in his element, it was going to be hard not to.

“Alright, alright,” I say, grinning. “I guess I’m in.”

“You know, this is the most relaxed you’ve been all night,” Lucas teases, his voice full of warmth. “Look at you, letting go of the stress.”

“I’m working on it,” I say, still feeling the underlying tension but starting to let it slip away.

Lucas starts rubbing my thigh. He stretches his fingers and grabs my flesh, squeezing it tightly at first and then lightly. I let my head drop to the side to expose my neck. Lucas starts kissing at my jaw and works his way down my neck to my shoulder.

I look up at Darren, and his eyes meet mine in the rearview mirror. “Do you mind if we—?” I ask, biting my lip.

Darren looks at me with a puzzled expression on his face.

“You can watch. Or you can join us,” I clarify. “It’s up to you, really.”

I see Darren’s eyes widen in the mirror, then dart from me to Lucas. “Really?” he asks.

“Yeah, why not?” Lucas replies. “We’re stuck in traffic anyway, might as well have a good time.”

Darren nods and shifts his torso to face Lucas and I. I can see his eyes shining with excitement in the dim lighting. The city lights flicker outside, casting a soft glow in the car, and for a moment, time seems to stand still. The warmth in Darren’s gaze pulls me in, and I can feel our unspoken connection growing stronger. As if drawn by an invisible force, I lean closer, my heart racing, and just before our lips meet, I catch a glimpse of his sly smile.

Darren’s kiss is slow and tender. His lips lightly brush mine and he takes his time before allowing himself to explore my mouth with his tongue.

The wetness between my legs intensifies and I take Darren’s unoccupied hand and put it on my breast. He cups it, kneading it and letting his fingers roam free.

A sudden honk from the car behind us jolts me upright, my heart racing in surprise. The traffic in front of us has moved forward by a few feet, and Darren is forced to return his attention to driving.

Something about letting another man kiss me ignites Lucas’s primal instincts, and he kisses me passionately, as if his very life depends on it. His tongue roams my mouth while his fingers are tangled in my hair. Feeling his hot breath mixing with mine is addicting, and I grab onto his collar to pull him closer to me. He smells of fresh citrus and the scent is intoxicating.

Lucas’s hand moves higher and higher up my skirt, until his thumb is grazing the fabric of my lingerie while massaging my inner thigh. “Do you like that?” he whispers in my ear.

I barely have time to nod before Lucas pulls my skirt all the way up and pulls my lingerie to the side.

Darren and I make eye contact through the rearview mirror again, only this time it’s brief because my head rolls back with pleasure when I feel Lucas’s fingers sliding inside me.

Lucas slips his fingers in and out, curling them deep inside me. He suddenly pulls them out, leaving me desperate for more, and licks my juices off his fingers. Seeing him do this sends me into overdrive, and I quickly undo the zipper of his pants. His penis is hard and ready underneath, springing out as soon as I lower the waistband of his pants.

I turn around so that I’m facing Lucas and my exposed ass is facing the front of the car. “Darren?” I hear myself ask.

“Yeah?” he replies from the front of the car, both hands on the steering wheel.

“Spank me,” I order him.

Darren does as he is told and spanks me lightly a few times. His hand leaves a delicious tingling sensation behind, and I allow myself a few seconds to enjoy it before I put Lucas’s penis in my mouth.

Lucas lets out a moan and melts into the backseat. I suck on his penis lightly, letting the pressure build up. Then I take it out and lick his shaft, working my tongue into every nook and cranny. Lucas starts breathing heavily, his chest visibly moving up and down. I decide to put him out of his misery and finally take him whole, until I feel his penis touch the back of my throat.

Meanwhile, Darren has begun grazing my ass, kneading it and digging his fingers into it. He quickly slaps it twice and it drives me wild.

It’s not long before I can taste Lucas’s sweet and salty precum. As much as I want him to finish, I want him to do it inside me. I turn around to face forward again and lower myself onto his penis, so that I’m sitting on his lap while I ride him.

I start grinding my hips back and forth, feeling the full length of Lucas’s rock hard penis move inside me. Lucas pulls my shirt down, exposing my breasts. He twists and pulls my nipples while I move my hips back and forth along his shaft, and it makes me let out a deep, guttural moan that is so loud it drowns out the music for a split second.

Darren never takes his eyes off me while I’m riding Lucas. His eyes linger on my breasts as they bounce up and down, and when he licks his lips I can’t help myself but lean forward and kiss him.

He darts his tongue inside me while I suck on his bottom lip, and I feel the pressure between my legs building more and more.

I pull away and lose myself bouncing up and down on Lucas’s thick penis. Each time I slam myself down harder and harder. Up and down… up and down… His penis goes deeper and deeper until I can no longer hold back and my legs buckle and shake. Waves of pleasure roll down my body as I explode all over Lucas’s lap.

Lucas then grabs onto my hips, rolling them forward and back faster and faster. I feel his stomach tighten behind me as he climaxes, filling me up with his sweet nectar.

Not wanting to leave Darren high and dry, I position myself between the two front seats and unzip his jeans. His penis springs out of them, hard and ready. I spit on my hand and rub it up and down his shaft, watching as his breathing gets heavy and ragged.

Darren leans back into his seat, his eyes rolled back from the pleasure but never letting go of the steering wheel.

I keep pumping my hand up and down his length, faster and faster, until he explodes all over. I give him a quick kiss on the cheek and return to the back seat.

A few minutes later, when the three of us are once again fully clothed, the traffic lightens a little and we move a few feet forward, but not enough to make a difference. I look at the dashboard clock. Less than an hour until midnight.

“Maybe we won’t make it to the party,” I say, leaning back into my seat with a smile. “But at least we had a good time.”

“You bet we did,” Lucas agrees, his smile wide.

Darren shoots us a wink through the rearview mirror, as if in agreement. “You never know what the night’s got in store for you. That’s the magic of this city.”
